Bachelor’s Degree Programs

1. Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies

The Bachelor of Arts, BA in Legal Studies is an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Law with the objectives to expose students to legal studies. Students will get to learn various aspect of law and its connection to people, public and private entities. The legal studies program is unique and is open to students who do not want to practice law but want to have good knowledge of law. Considering the importance of law in any jurisdiction, getting a sound knowledge in law will be an added advantage.

Note: 120 credit units are required for Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and it is categorized as follows: 69 credit units for compulsory courses, 33 credit units for elective courses, and 18 credit units for general education courses.

2. Bachelor of Arts in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security

The Bachelor of Arts, BA in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security is an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Law with the objectives to expose students to Digital Forensics and Cyber Security. Students will get to learn various aspects of digital forensics and cyber security analysis. The digital forensics and cyber security program is unique and gives students the opportunity to learn the various principles and the applications of these principles to prevent cyber crime. Globally, cyber crime rates keep increasing and there is need to detect and prevent cyber crime. Digital Forensics and Cyber Security program play a vital role in teaching students on the art and science of detecting and preventing cybercrime.

3. Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Forensics and Criminal Justice

The Bachelor of Arts, BA in Criminology, Forensics and Criminal Justice is an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Law with the objectives to expose students to Criminology, Forensics and Criminal Justice. Students will get to learn various principles, models and theories of criminology, forensics and criminal justice and its connection to people, public and private entities. Most crimes need a forensic knowledge for proper investigation and storage of evidence. In most jurisdictions, crimes and its punishment are codified. There is a strong connection between crime, investigation and court. The program will expose students to these connections.

4. Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

The Bachelor of Laws , LLB, is an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Law with the objectives to expose the students to legal principles, theories and procedures. Students will get to learn various aspect of law and it connections to people, public and private entities. Considering the importance of law in any jurisdiction, getting a law degree will be an exciting advantage.

Master’s Degree Programs

1. Master of Arts in Legal Studies

The Master of Arts, MA in Legal Studies is a postgraduate program in the Faculty of Law with the objectives to expose students to advanced legal studies and its technicality. Students will get to learn advanced legal principles and its application.

Note: 36 credit units are required for Master of Laws in Legal Studies and its categorized as follows: 26 credit units for compulsory courses, 4 credit units for elective courses and 6 credit units for thesis.

2. Master of Laws

The Master of Laws, LLM is a postgraduate program in the Faculty of Law with an objective to expose students with advanced theories, principles and applications of law. The program is open to practicing lawyers. Those with Bachelor’s degree in law but yet to practice can also apply for the program.

Student is at liberty to choose either Master of Laws (LLM) or Master of Laws (LLM) with specialization in:

  1. Commercial Law
  2. Constitutional Law
  3. Criminal Law
  4. Digital and Information Technology Law
  5. Environmental Law
  6. International Law and Jurisprudence
  7. Private and Property Law
  8. Public Law
  9. Tax and Financial Law
  10. Maritime Law

Note: (a) 36 credit units are required for Master of Laws, LLM and its categorized as follows: 26 credit units for compulsory courses, 4 credit units for elective courses and 6 credit units for thesis.

(b) 36 credit units are required for Master of Laws (LLM) Degree with specialization and its categorized as follows: 20 credit units for compulsory courses, 4 credit units for elective courses, and 6 credit units for specialization courses, and 6 credit units for thesis.

3. Master of Arts in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security

The Master of Arts, MA in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security is a postgraduate program in the Faculty of Law with the objectives to expose students to advanced Digital Forensics and Cyber Security. Students will get to learn various advanced aspects of digital forensics and cyber security analysis. 2. PhD in Law

The PhD in Law is the apex academic degree in the postgraduate school of the Faculty of Law with an objective to prepare students with leadership skills and knowledge needed to succeed and occupy top leadership positions both in the academics and other industries.
